Sorry about picture quality however I think you will get the idea.

I changed the German to a French Sous-Lieutenant of the 7th Cuirassiers c.1939/40 in walking-out dress. He will be depicted as part of a diorama with S-35 Somua or Hotckiss H-35 and tank crew. Plus a couple of civilians i.e. woman walking past looking at him whilst pushing a bike.

The figure has been fully painted and shaded which the pic does not pic up. The jacket is a very dark blue black which in real terms does not give off much in the way of highlights and shadow except for a very slight bluish sheen so the basic very dark grey, black shadow and lighter grey highlights do not work in this case.

Looking nice! Which materials did you use for the conversion?

Nice - 7 Cuirassiers probably had H-39s rather than H-35s, if thats any help.

Thanks David, come to think of it I have a H-39. Cuirassiers also used the Panhard 178 which I also have.

If this site is correct, and it seems to agree with what I''ve read in some of the Trackstory books, a Panhard would have been part of a separate regiment.

Thanks for that Rod, straight into the favourites. The colour plates are lifted from the Trackstory book BTW.

I'm sure that I've seen markings for the 6 Cuirassiers somewhere, possibly on a sheet of transfers from Blast Models.

Thanks Guy.
David this is a H39 of 7 Cuirassiers.
Bronco H39 has these markings, tail skid etc. so I ordered one yesterday. Obvious choice.
I will also use a couple of DES French Crewmen.

Rod

There have been a couple of builds of the Trumpeter H-39 here that should help. The Trumpeter kit has a few whacky features that may catch the unwary out.

Where did you find the drawing as it looks like another site I should be bookmarking.
