Hi Folks:
Please see the attached images. While so far I have built a grand total of 1 Stryker I now have 3 projects underway. At least one will need to depict the two rope like so, as opposed to using the sometimes seen tow cable. So, what should I use to depict this in 1/35? I was thinking of trying to find the appropriate shoelace which seems to have the same weave pattern. But most shoelaces I think are flat rather than round. Still, I think if I searched hard enough I could find a round shoe lace in the right color and size. Any thoughts?
I am not even sure how I want to depict the end eye that goes around the shackle.

Did you try boat model, because this look like pattern for maritime ropes.
Maybe you can post the same image to the Ship community?

Several 1:6th scale "action figure" companies make their boots with real laces. DiD corp. is one brand. There are several online stores that sell just parts, so perhaps you can canabalize one from them?
(you are building a 1/35th stryker, right?)

If you take the shoe lace route, try baby/infant shoe laces. If the flatness bothers you, feed a metal wire in there to bulk it out. The wire will make it easier to manipulate or display as well.

Hi Burik,
Your best option would be braided line/hose used for car modeling, various manufacturers have them in various materials, diameters and colors, and if I'm not mistaken various number of lines intertwine.
I've not used them myself, so you've have to do some researching in finding which are most flexible to depict rope.

Shielded antenna wire is braided too.
