This is the 1/48 scale Tamiya KV-1E kit, overall a pretty fun build. I painted the tank with a base color of 2 parts Tamiya field grey and 1 part flat white. The bottom was painted with red brown. The mud mixture consists of white glue, baking soda, red brown tamiya acrylic paint, craft sand, and model grass. Metallic parts was painted with German gray. I wind up making a few mistakes, I ended drilling holes in a few wrong places (sides of the turret and one on the top part of the hull). Oil washes was also used.

You've done a really excellent job Terry - thanks for posting!
Despite Tamiya's listing the KV-1E was a German designation. This is in fact a KV - 1 (Model 1940 'Ekrehnami) with bolted-on applique armor.
Whatever, it's a nice looking model

Very nice build. I like it a lot. I would just add few chips here and there (around the hatches for example).
