Hello friends, for a good friend of mine, I painted this figure for one of his dioramas. It's an German Africa Korps panzer crew soldier (pink piping).
I painted it as usual in oils. The figure was not a great sculpt. The folds and plies could have been better, they were difficult to paint.
Probably I will try to add a bit more contrast. And of course varnishes will be brushed on.
I hope you guys like it, constructive feedback very welcome !

Thank you Martyn.
Yeah guys, I know the man's got ugly legs ! But please can't you at least say my paint work is horrible ? Only one reply, what have I done wrong ? Is it the German ? No offense my friends.

Very nice,Guy. Yep,that dude has some ugly legs alright but not much can be done about that. Really like the way you did the face. The only suggestion I have is to bleach out his cap a lot more. They were the prime badge of African veterans.
Cheers!

Very nice work with the oils on the uniform. If I was going to suggest anything it would be to try to shade the hair that is showing under the brim of his cap. It does look monotone in the pictures. Also, if you can thinout the pink piping on the shoulder straps a little. Nice figgie though!

Guy,
A good job on your DAK figure. I like the uniform, well done! One of the items that caught my eye is the skin tone. German in Africa would probably have a darker tone perhaps a bit on the sunburnt side. You do have good tone variation as it is, perhaps darker (perhaps it may be my monitor).
Overall well done sir.
Cheers

Thank you all for your helpful replies ! I learned a lot from your words. For example, I will try to create more contrast. G.
