Well, my M2A2 is almost done (primer is drying right now), and I have a Tamiya Humvee en route from Mission Models (Thanks Jon!) and I think that my OIF dio is going to have them both in it!
Anyway, my question is this, what model does the US Special Forces use in Iraq. From the pictures that I have, I think it is a M998, 4 doors with the "pickup truck" open back end. Am I correct? Also, does anyone have any pictures of what the rear portion of the crew compartment looks like?
Here is a picture from militaryphotos.net

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Wow, so many, many questions...#:-)

Chris, one interesting comment about that is that U.S. special forces and particularly the Rangers, have started using landrovers as well as Humvees. This was particularly seen in the Kurdish areas, I thought they were just using locally available vehicles, or they had been purchased in Turkey, but a number of defence correspondents were commenting on this saying that for various functions the Landrover was becoming the preferred vehicle over the Humvee although it has to be said I only saw the Landrover used in the north... Now if only someone would do a decent (affordable) Landrover in plastic..... Jim

Jim,
Yeah, I read that too. I think they said part of it is because the LandRover is easier to airdrop (being much narrower). That Accurate Armor rover that is out now is really cool, but is over $100 usd! Wow!

yeah Chris, the AA stuff is impressive but the prices.... I don't know if you've seen them on their site but they seem to have come to some kind of agreement with Landrover to advertise their products.....weird... Jim
