Just thought i`d let you guys (and Gals)know what i`m up to at the moment.I do`nt own a digital camera so i`ll do my best to describe it so you can visualize it.
I`ve taken an Airfix Challenger 2 hull, built the tub and running gear straight out of the box but crossed the upper hull with parts from Italeri`s Bergepanther.I first sealed over the turret opening with plasticard, then used the exhsauts left over from Tamiya`s Challenger 2 to provide a better detail to this area.Next i removed the barrel bumper from behind the engine opening and mounted the crane to one side,i`ve also taken the some spare seat rails from Tamiya`s Deuce and a half truck and glued them to the sides to form two safety rails for the main deck.
Next i plan to fit the side skirts from Tamiya`s Challenger 1 kit and the rear towing arrangement from the Bergepanther to it (i was also going to use the Bergepanther earth spade but in a what-if reality i`d need to fit some sort of winch but i thought that would`nt look right !),then add a some crew gear, then PRESTO,Berge-Challenger !!.I got the idea from a picture of a Sherman ARV i saw in a magazine.
Any thoughts or ideas to add to this would be appreciated.
