Look like everything is taking shape. A big endeavour. I wish you luck and look forward to the final product

Hey Juggler I have thought about a tunnel. In my reasearch I have herd that they would back the gun into a tunnel so I am really thinking about it.
Hey Scott just showing the models to be used. Any ideas on a tunnel I am thinking 6 inches in from the edge.

Hi Sheldon,

Am following this one with interest. Is the rail gun the Trumpeter kit or the Dragon version?

A tunnel would be stunning if build built big enough. I think your idea of 6 inches would give you enough space to go tall. May I suggest a angles with the mountain and entry. Come back into the diorama a bit to give more visual interest.
This diorama gives you an idea of what I mean

I really like the work you did on the base. I was thinking of doing something similar with mine, the plastic road bed just doesn't look all the nice.

I was thinking of adding a couple of cavalry soldiers riding past the gun while a couple of the gun crew are doing some checks.

You set up is going to be much more ambitious. I really look forward to seeing your progress.

Thanks Jim the road bed was a easy fix and I am happy with the out come. Now on to the tunnel and mountian side. I am off to work in a couple of hours for the week so I will be thinking on it.

I did the same subject as my first ever armour dio. I made the tunnel frame out of wood and covered it with Celluclay. Excuse the 'cleaness' of everything, I didn't know much about weathering back then and come to think of it, still not a whole lot better.

Well here is stage 1 of the tunnell. I will cast some plaster inserts for the inside of the tunnel. The outside will be rock as you can see digging the pink foam with a claw hammer is a good start.

Input welcome Sheldon

The first thing that struck me was the inbound nature of the gun. Subtle touch that really bring interest to the project. Every other diorama with a rail gun that I've seen has it come out of the tunnel.

The size of the wall you've added really keeps the whole thing 'in scale' The wall does not look like an 'add on idea'. Nice job.

Hey Scott thanks for the input the progress is slow I keep getting side tracked on other projects. That is how I work when I get stuck on something I move to another project and sooner or later the answer will come to me.
Well back to work.
Sheldon
