the kit was painted with tamiya dark yellow ,humbrol white ,very fait washes
there may be a few scratches about the barrel as this is not glued in (for stoarage) it fell out and it took the some of paint off (dohh) so I didnt want to touch up as this was made some months ago.Hope you like it.

Looks pretty good, figures just take practice. One thing you may try is hitting the decals wth a dcal solvent/set solution to really try to snug them down on the zimm. I like it, good job!

Darren,
Well Darren, you have turned out a very commendable job on this one. This is the first time that I am seeing a winter white coat on this DML / zimmert kit and you have done a good job of it! I also like how you have rendered the rust effect on the tracks that are hanging on the side of the turret - best I have seen to date, not overdone and just the right tone of color (looks real).
I have to agree with you about your figure painting! However, the fact that you have taken the time to include them with your build is (in my opinion) the right step. Without them it is extremely difficult to judge the actual size of the vehicle and they add action and life that cannot be achived on any build without them. I admire anyone that attempts to place a figure on or next to the vehicle. Keep at it with the figures you can only get better with practice.

darren, for your first couple of builds this is really nice tank you have put together. It is a differnet white wash from the ones I am used to seeing. Yeah figures are tough to build no question, like osmeone else said, i think its good that you put them in the build. The tracks look very good and the ones on the turret look fantastic... the one thing i would change is paint the shovel black or dark gray... because a silver shovel doesnt have a good appearance, I would dry brush it with the silver.other than that, I think its great

Excellent job. I really love the way you applied the white paint. Few things though (which are just minor).
Like Eric said, try using a special liquid solution for the decals. It gives really excellent results. It softens the decal so it looks like painted. It's even more important with zimmed vehicles. All tiger II had a three tone camouflage applied (by the crewmen or factory) so it should be visible in some places where the white paint is faded. It takes more time but it's looking really great and it's historically correct. The running gear would need some weathering especially as it's a winter time. Also the part of wheels that touches tracks should be painted a steel or a kind of aluminium color (can be weathered after). It's metal touching metal all the time.
A big point for including figs and those trucks on the turret are really nice.

Nice work on the figures, they help a model to come alive,I am just starting to mess with figures myself,so I can appreciate your efforts. Also nice job on the PE I built this kit and I could not deal with those small PE tool tie-downs,and as was said the tracks look good also.
