I remember seeing on ths site a thread about a company that makes diorama bases in either plaster or resin (I cannot rememer which). The had one called "The Sunken Road", they also had some Greek & Roman ruins (columns mostly). Does anyine know what company that is? I'm drawing a total blank.

Thanks,
Jim

These are nIce resin bases - I have 3 of them.

The only thing I'd say about them is that although they're fine for smaller AFVs such as Panzer Is, Panzer IIs, 251s, 222s or 223s, they're way too small for the larger beasts like Tigers or Panthers - although "Corner Wall" will accommodate a Panzer IV or a Sherman comfortably, and "Ancient Road" is just about OK for a Panzer III or IV.

I was talking to Duncan of DB Models (the UK distributor for Monroe Perdu) at EuroMil the other week, and he said that he's been trying to persuade them to come up with some larger bases for larger tanks. Time will tell whether or not they're taking his requests on board.

Also worth a look is

This is a Germany-based company run by a very affable English bloke called Nick. He produces a small range of lovely ceramic bases (in both 1/35 and 1/48), some of which are large enough for a Tiger, a KV, a T-62 or a Challenger (I hasten to add that I don't have any stake in the company - I'm just a satisfied punter).
