Much is known about the model so,talk is cheap. Aber PE details were used ONLY in areas that really needed added detail as their sets can give me headaches...When purchasing the kit,I bought Aber set as well as a armourscale barrel, which turned out to be a big mistake as you most probably know...Friul tracks were used as the give THE sag needed. some home made details, the front armor needed reworking after the mutilation of the fenders as well as the rear where I added some styrene to fill the holes and make fender attachment points. Some more assemblies in PE have to be made, lost a couple of important parts on assembly of the box that goes on the front left fender(sneeze attack, don`t know how it happened to sneeze on the table...) so I need to think what to do about that as well
Aber guys are insane

What's the problem with the Armorscale gun?

the mantlet is too small(narrow) and the barrel needs to be reworked to fit inside it...so I`ve took the time to use the original which, truth to tell,is really good, just needs a little attention

that is looking like an excellent build! I had to laugh about your comments on the sneeze attack; I've lost some parts that way too. Looking forward to seeing some more pix as you progress.

Hi Matija
Your build's looking very good! Are you going to paint it plain green, or are you thinking about giving it a white-wash?
Keep up the good work.
Best regards
Jacob

Thanks to all,
@Jacob, it will be a green staljin, as this was from the Berlin battle
Ifinished the build yesterday, so I will take some photos for the record and it`s off for a bath and then Mr.Surfacer to prime it

Hi great job so far. I dunno about sneezing but I suffer from MS and I have problems using my right hand ( I am Right handed!) and I suffered from a lot of tweezer jumping!
Solved that problem got a pair of tweezers that lock and grip the piece i am working on!
Good luck with the IS really must get on with mine.

Don't think Russian tank drivers up to much. Ever Stalin 2 I've seen are missing they're fenders. Nice build. Just built a Trumpeter KV2 without fenders used the kit indy tracks. Looking at those Fruil's makes me wiss I'd got them, never mind there's always next time

It`s painted with a very dark green, will see if I can lighten it up a bit with fading. The turret got air recognition stripes with white pastel mixed with alcohol to get that untidy and thin appearance. It is supposed to be that uneaven and wobbly. The numbers were hand painted(stupid tamiya decals stics like glue so no positioning was possible,so it had to come down...) The chipping was done with a sponge and a lighter green followed with a rubber brown. As this is a enamel color,I resprayed it with an acrylic coat and now it`s off for the fading with oils

fading is done,it`s intentionally a little sloppy because the wash will be liberal and light brown colored to simulate dry dust
