Well done, good story, i actually laughed whem i saw the guy holding his stomach.
Your painting is excellent, the jeep drivers' facial expression is superbe.
My only negatives are perhaps the dark road, (some more drybrushings could perhaps help here) and the big base. for my taste to big.
Cheers
Claude

Oh what a funny scene, I like humour in a diorama.
The figures are good sculpts. The paintwork on them is well done.
They make a sort of "Laurel and Hardy" couple. The smile on the face of the driver, lovely ! The poor guy (his "faecal" expression !) with his toilet paper looking for a suitable bush to hide and ...a marvelous idea !
The Jeep is very interesting to look at, packed and loaded with fine items.
My only critic is that the story would have been stronger when told on a smaller base, as Claude said too. But : I just love it !!!
Thank you for sharing this ! G.

Hi Steve
I love it!!! Being an ex-tanker, I've been there.... The only thing you might have missed, is his entrencementtool (spade!) for digging a small hole.
Best regards
Jacob

I really like.
Simple and effective depicted story and extremely well executed. Very pleasant to the modeller's eye!!
I like the faces expression on both figures.
Thanks a lot for sharing!
Cheers.

Steve-- can you describe how you weathered the toilet paper holders' tanker jacket?

Thanks everyone for the great comps and feed back. I've shown this to a some friends and it isnt till they see the T-paper that they start to laugh and say "I get it".
Claude I did weather the road but since I wanted it to have a wet muddy look some of it was lost under the gloss coat. As far as the base goes if there was one thing I could change I would have used a round one.
DJ I use acrylics for all my figure painting except for the primer coat which is enamel either a flat gray or black. I used khaki for the base coat and the creases and folds were done in dark brown. When thats almost dry I give the jacket a wash of the dark brown when thats dry I then wash it with the khaki followed by another wash of a lighter brown. When dry give it a coat of clear matt then add some white to the khaki and just brush lightly catching the raised edges. Hope this was of some help.
P.S. about the entrenching tool, if you had to go as bad as this guy you would'nt have time to dig a hole

Hi Steve,
It's a refreshing change to see a diorama portraying some human and comical elements!
Excellent painting done on the figures but I can't make up my mind which one I :like the best,
I do however know which one's shoes I wouldn't want to be in!
Which elements did you use to make the shrubs, I quite like them?!
All the best,
Shay

Very nice vignette, like the whole idea. The expression of the figures is just superb.
I could suggest that you tone down a bit the base, so that you could leave it, and try to paint it darker, the contrast would not be so shocking. The base is really lighter than the mud, so I guess trying to put the base color in a tone very similar to the mud, but that's just an opinion.
Really nice work
