Hey folks,

I've been searching for a few things that have gotten me interested in creating dynamic action in a diorama.

I've seen stuff like bullet splashes in water, shell splashes, explosions, fires, etc. I've seen a discussion on how to model splinters flying through the air, which I found particularly interesting.

I'm just wondering if ya'll have any good tips for creating this kind of realism/action in a dio. Particularly the bullet and shell splashes interest me, as I've never done that before.

So, any more bright ideas along these lines you'd care to share?

Thanks,

Matthew

For small arms fire, I'd stretch some clear sprue the coat it with Woodland Scenics Water Effects or epoxy to build it up. Or coat bits of cottom from a cotton ball with Water Effects.

Hi Matthew,
Whatever you have in the pipeline, good luck!
I did come across this dio here from Axel Repping over at ML recently.
Showing a tank in still frame must be damned hard, however he pulled it off quite realistically with his King Tiger diorama!!
Cheers,
Shay

For drips and splashed drops you can experiment with craft hot glue - dab and streatch.

Ola Matthew

I used steelwire and cotton to recreate the Smoke trail of a Bazookarocket. Maybe not the most convincing way but it does the trick in capturing motion. Project still needs to be finished.

I created the bullet strikes in this dio by dragging white paint brush bristles that I cut off of an old paint brush through DAP clear Silicone Caulk.
