As you know I'm working on a new line of structure kits in 1/35. Here is my latest. For my money this one would look right at place in Iraq or Afganistan.
It features two detailed hydrocal castings & full color, step by step painting & weathering instructions. You can have it glued together & ready to paint in about 15 minutes. The kits will also have laser cut wood windows/doors but I'm still waiting on the parts from my laser cutter.
As always, I'm looking for honest feedback. For now I'm just test marketing these on eBay but look for them to be available through all of the usual channels in a couple months once I get the laser cut parts & packaging done.

Randy,
Personally, I think it looks great! Very nice.
There are a bunch of members deployed in A-stan and Iraq that frequently post on Armorama.....they'd be the best feedback as to whether or not this would fit the local.
My tour during the First Gulf War netted me time at the port and the rest of the time in the desert....didn't see much at all of buildings......just sand and camel spiders.
Still, looks very good!

Looks nice, but I think it looks more European. The masonry looks too neatly done for most of what I've seen. I'd do the arches over the window in a more "Arabesque" fashion, for Iraq. For Afghanistan, I can only speak for the regions I was in. Stone buildings of that nature generally had just a concrete block supporting the area over the windows. and tended to be very squat in stature.

I would think that it would work well in a lot of locations. Seems like I've seen pics of that type of construction in Italy and Sicily, and possibly in Eastern Europe/Russia. I think we have a few buildings like that here in Normal!

Very nicely done. Great detail too, but I have to agree with the gentleman who said Europe, Sicily, Spain, Italy, and perhaps even Eastern Europe and parts of Great Britain.
Most MidEast construction is rougher, more mud-brick or concrete block construction. As a European building it's a winner, why worry about the Mid East without getting the "look" from AP articles or youtube blogs?
When I sculpted my Row House kits, I worked from pictures of French, German, and Belgian buildings. Combining features of both into the design. My half timber corner building was a great kit in it's time.
Fortunately, many Eastern Bloc buildings are Very similar. You want true to life Eastern Bloc buildings? Watch Kelly's Heroes. It was filmed in Yougoslavia NOT France.
For Mid Eastern buildings, check out Newsweek photo features, or books on Tobruk or even the film PATTON.
I have removed a statement of fact from this forum because this is not the place to discuss the failings of another. Karma will take care of everything in the end.

Hi Carlos,
You bet. I'm trying to catalog my 500+ plastic model kit collection to offer them on EBay, so I can concentrate on new and better buildings, and accessories. Tired of seeing over priced, under detailed diorama accessories. The kit on theis page is an exceptional work of art. The man is good.
I've put a couple of photos up on Armorama. I'll be darned if I can figure out how to get them to show up here. The instructions seem to go right over my head.
