Looks to be progressing well Gino. I myself have been tempted and have started to gather the Academy 1/35th scale helicopters, not the best kits ever made but very imposing in size.

Thanks, the Academy H-60s are pretty good bases for superdetailing though. With the Cobra Company sets, they can be awesome. I'll keep you posted.

Thans for the compliments. For the decals, Joseph Osborne of Fireball Modelworks, upscaled his 1/48 Jayhawk decals for me. They look awesome. I should have an update soon. Its been a little slow-going lately. Still plugging away at the cabin interior.

Well i can imagine your dutys keep you busy but your model work shows great skills. How do you ship your models from the sand box to state side helis must be a pain to ship because of the rotors.

Thet aren't too bad to ship, if you plan ahead while buiding them. I leave the rotors loose so they can come off and be put flat in the bottom of the box separately. They are packed up well in peanuts or paper in a big box and I have had no issues with them. As long as they are packed right, you can mail models all over the world without issues.

I finally was able to upload pictures. It has been done for about 2 weeks now. I had issues uploading from Iraq, but with the help of a friend in the states, managed to upload them.
She is complete. The Fireball Modelworks decals work great. I have used a few of Joseph's sets and they always work great. I highly recommend them. The paint was a PITA, but well worth it. I am fully pleased with how it turned out.
Here it is.
The rest can be seen here.
Thanks for all the encouragement and I hope you all like it.

I love the shape of the black-hawk , and thats a great conversion , nicely finished , well done.
I got the old mrc one which i started yonks ago and stays in the loft crying out to get done, might just do that after seeing this.
All the best,
John.

The USCG has a two fold mission. It conducts rescue operations along and off the US coasts (or where needed, i.e Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans) to pluck stranded boaters, surfers, etc out of the water. It is also responsible for maritime law enforcement (policing the coastline); enforcing laws at sea, keeping out contraband, illigal immigrants, etc. The gun helps in the policing role. Nothing stops a drug boat making a high-speed run into shore like a few 7.62 rounds. As of late, some Coasties are also serving in Iraq to help train the Iraqi Coast Guard and police Iraq's shores. There are no Coast Guard helos in Iraq that I know of though, just a couple cutters (ships).
Here is an article on their roles and missions.

Looks really good Gino. I was following your build off and on for a bit. Nice to see it completed.
Very sharp.
Its cool to see something so colourful on this site for a change of pace.
Thanks
Jeff

Thanks Jeff. Something colorful was a nice change. The white was a real pain. It was still worth it though.

IŽll probably never build a helicopter, but it doesnŽt make this any less impressive. Great scratch work Gino, and incorporating it into the kit. Its invisible now. The paintwork and decals really make it stand out. Nice one.
