Just a quick question for the exsperts, I am looking for two kits one of them being a KV-85 in 1/35th scale and a T-34/85 in 1/35th scale. I would like to know what are the best accurate kits in these two tanks. I really do not want to cut and grid on them to much. Any help or a link to a review would be great. Also does anybody have any pics of a T-34/85 OT (flame thrower) Thanks in advance. Mike Eden

The only KV-85 kit ever offered in 1/35th scale is the Eastern Express kit. It is very rough, and needs photoetch for the engine grills and aftermarket tracks (double link IS-2 tracks, since the earlier KV-1 tracks are too wide). You will need to do a lot of cutting and grinding on this one, assuming you can find one, as the company appears to be defunct.
Best T-34-85 is Dragon's. They have a couple of different variants, with 1944 or 1945 style cupolas and front fenders, but all have the same type of turret (the flattened typed). More recent boxings also include photoetch. The older RPM/Maquette and Zvezda/Italeri kits are much more basic.

The Trumpeter KV kits are very good and cheap, so if you can find an Eastern Express KV-85, you might be able to combine the two into a fairly decent result.
