Am currantly building dragons firefly Ic hybrid, and i have an issue on the tracks.the kit comes with 2 sets of track. Type T62 with the 3 studs and the other set are suppose to be Type T54 steel.
Am doing a canadian Firefly which according to bison decals has the T54 E1 Track.
So the dragon instructions say use sprue G tracks but to me they look more like the rubber pad tracks?
Bisons drawing of the tank
Anyone care to share there thoughts
Regards

Hi Karl,
Hopefully this will help
http://web.inter.nl.net/users/spoelstra/g104/track_vvss.htm
The second set should be the steel chevron set which is what you want to use. Make sure and clean up the pads on either side and the easiest way to build them is in sections. Make 8/10 links and use a ruler to press them flat, it takes time to clean them all up and assemble the sections but they are a good job once done. Use ordialy plastic glue and it will have enough flexibility when it comes to the rounds on the drive and idler wheels.
If you working from a reference picture then use that as a guide.

The DMl M4 Composite Firefly always came with the original DML Sherman Tracks (T62) but on that kit they added the T48 Rubber Chevron from the M4A1 kit which was released at that time. From memory the boxtop artwork shows these T 48 tracks.
If you want t54 then your options are RHPS/Panda (Recommended), Fruil (Not recommended as they are near impossible to keep the sag out of), Model Kasten (a nightmare to assemble) or find a set of DML's old rubber band from the M4A3 and Jumbo kits (original release as the newer ones have T48 also). If you can get someone to part with the the new DML T 54 Ds tracks then good luck.
RHPS/Panda are avail from Rob at Formations and are the best in individual tracks. If you don't mind rotten jobs you can always shave the rivets off the T62 for a fascimile T54E2.
The T 48 was quite common on a lot of the m4 Hybrid Fireflies in NWE Can service.
Cheers
Al
