Dear friends,
Are there any difference in winter cold wear uniform between Self propelled gun crew and Panzer crew. I wanted to use the Dragon 6016 for a tiger crew, actually Otto carius in winter with white tiger in Estonia.
It seems to me that some modellers potrayed Otto carius wearing green beret
What color of inner uniform to adopt?
Thanks in advnace
Cheers

No the Parka and over trousers were general issue uniforms.
I don't know anything about Otto Carius and his crew so I can't say what they wore underneath.

By "inner uniform" do you refer to the "normal" field uniform? See this thread: German uniform differences

Hi
Without knowing for sure, so am I uncertain to tank crew used winter clothing.
The inside of a tank is quite hot, from the engine, from firing the gun Etc.
Winter clothing is thick and formless and make it hard to move.
When I was in the army we had winter clothing with us in the tank if we were forced to submit the tank, but in it we had our common uniform, down to -20 C was it ok .We used Centurion at that time.
Possible in Russia winter cloths was needed.
perhaps, I would done so here instead

Hi Buddy,According to a book on uniforms i have the style of the uniforms was the same but SPG uniforms tended to be light grey whilst Panzer uniforms were generally black.
Also SPG uniform tended to be Less "dressy" with things like Shoulder boards actually stitched on as opposed to button on to prevent them snagging on stuff inside the vehicle.
So when i`ve modelled SPG`s i`ve used panzer figures but i`ve removed any badges and thinned down shoulder boards then painted any uniform pipeing pink instead of silver, then used Humbrol 64 paint as the uniform colour.
Hopes this helps
