Do you want a permanent roadblock or a temporary one we used to call a 'snap vehicle control point' which was little more than a coil of concertina, a warning sign, possibly some orange cones and some vehicles. A permanent entry control point is much more of an elaborate affair with sandbags, HESCO barriers, etc. If you can give me an idea of what you're looking for I might have some pictures from my last tour. Can someone identify the location of this checkpoint. It looks familiar to me, but I can place it.

If you need photos of checkpoints or just about anything else in Iraq check out this link.

http://picasaweb.google.com/andy.adyns

This will lead you to many fantastic pictures. If you make your own account (which is easy to do) you can download entire albums.

Thanks Andy for sharing so many great pictures.

I was in, through at, Tikrit, Tuz, Al Hilla, KMTB, Diawania, An Najaf, Samarra, LSAA Anaconda, Baquba Ruz to name a few. Thats about most of them. The pic looks like Southern Iraq (Al Hillah area).

Nope.
Not our neck of the woods at all. But I imagine they start to look the same after a while.

I see you're in Texas. Ft. Hood?
