Hi Guys,
I've just finished this 120 mm resin figure from the small English figure company Stormtroopers that I picked up at EuroMil in September.
It depicts a Waffen SS officer in Berlin during the final days of World War 2.
There were a few small sink holes that needed filling, and a bit of minor corrective surgery was required on the inside of his coat and on his tunic to make his map case fit properly. But all in all it's a really nice figure if battle-hardened WWII Germans are your particular modelling kick.
I painted it with Vallejo acrylics and oil paints, and finished it off with some selective dusting using pigments.
Hope you like it.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my work.
- Steve

Hi Steve
Great looking figure, good composition and excellent painting.
If I could just say I think the neck is way too long. If you take this distance from the collar of his jumper to his chin then I think it needs to be half that distance. It's especially noticable from the rear view shots of him. Easily corrected I'm sure.
They do look to have some nice figures in their range. Well done once again.

Thanks for your comments, Alan.
I understand what you're saying regarding the neck. I did in fact already shorten it a little, but then decided not to take any more off, as he's obviously craning and stretching to peer round a corner. To be honest I'm still in two minds about it - even after grabbing my own 1:1 replica Schmeisser and reproducing the pose myself around a doorway into the hall (the lengths we go to!).
What I'll do is I'll see what the other guys think also, and then act on the general concensus. As you say, it wouldn't be too difficult a modification to make.
Thanks again!

I think your paint work is spot on, that counts for the camo of the trousers too. Nice highlights...good depth in clothing.
About the neck : it looks a bit too long. But at the same time, it adds good expression to the situation the soldier is in. He's clearly not planning to take a couple of bullets so he prefers stretching his neck to take a careful look behind that corner.
Sometimes it's good to look true the eyes of an artist !
