You may already know this, but they were only used there by the French in the 1950s and a few were still in use w/the ARVN into the mid '60s.
Here are a few pics and color plates of them.
French M24s
ARVN M24s
Hope that helps.

I never knew that there were any in country, but makes sense. From all the pics they look like they were all way down south. Now I wonder if there were any M4 Shermans over there?
Seems like I saw a destroyed M3 halftrack once down in II-Corps. Up north ARVN's used M41's and M48's, and were big on M114's as well as M113's.

Cambodia had some M-24s too. In "Armor of the Vietnam War: Asian Forces" there is an illustration of an M-24 with some Cambodian writing on the turret. Wish I could post it for you.

When the ARVN started getting M41s in the mid-`60s, the M24s were taken on by the RVAF. They were used for airbase security. In the early `70s, they had the engines removed and were used as strong points. Seems that the powers that be at the time, didn't want the RVAF to have their own coup troops.
actually there are some pluses with the M24 when compaired to the Sheridan, but also some bad ones as well. The worst thing being the use of gasoline, and the 75mm gun was a little light. The M24 with a short barreled 105 and deisel powered might have been the ticket. Specially with the low ground pressure factor.
