Hi Guys

I'd like to build the Tamiya 2A5 for the 'Big Cats' Campaign. I generally like to build AFV's in photos, rather than just those in the painting instructions.

Having said that the kit represents a vehicle that WAS in KOSOVO in 1999.

ie: KFOR 214th Pz. Bn. Kosovo 1999.

Does anyone know of definitive photos of this particular Leopard please ?

The kit vehicles rego is: "Y 907 747" AND the tank name on the Turret is "Wild thing"

I know of this link but I can't seem to make out if this vehicle is there:

Thanks in Advance for any help

Paul

Paul,
I built "Wild thing" a couple of years back. I think I still have a few pics on my hard drive at home, if so I'll let you know later today (if no one else has posted or sent you any). Oh, and none of the Leo's pictured in the link you posted are "Wild thing."

Cheers,
Mike

Paul, sorry this took so long, first I got busy then I just forgot so much for brilliant huh . Anyway after checking my pics I did find one good shot of "Wildthing." I thought I had at least one more but either I imagined it, or I domehow deleted it. Well enough typing, I hope this helps some.

Best,
Mike

Paul, that's not barracuda it's just regular camo netting. You could make it with stretched gauze and tea leaves (or something similiar). I left it off my model, after painting the camo I couldn't bear to cover it up. Here are a couple of pics of my version of Wildthing.

Wow Mike !

That looks awesome. Congratulations

That is one nice build, I hope mine comes up as well !

What AM stuff did you use (if any) ?

The weathering is subtle but spot on. Is that just a little diluted 'color' airbrushed on ?

Thanks again for the photo (s). It's much appreciated

Now to finish that ASLAV 25

Cheers

Paul

Thanks Paul, I appreciate it.
I used the Eduard PE set for this kit #35 340, it's pretty comprehensive. Voyager has since released one also, that looks to be very nice. Rick S. used it on his Canadian Leo that is currently featured on the home page.

Yep you got it, I faded the camo colors with the AB and then misted on very diluted layers of buff for the dust. It's actually a little "dirtier" in person, but my camera didn't pick it up too well.

Cheers,
Mike

Thanks MIke.

I have the Eduard set on the way and I have a Lion Roar set here with me ATM. I'll be doing a 2A6 at some stage also - that Canadian slat is 'Scary' so maybe it'll be "Deutsches Heer" also.

I think I will check both PE sets out to see which I like better for this one. I'm also trying to get a Barrel Depot L44 but they're out of stock ATM. And the stores I've checked here in Oz haven't got them either.

This project will be a fun one to do later on in the year - planning needs to be done first though hey ?

I think I'll practice some camo net also

Paul
