This is a Christmas gift for my godfather, he's a military buff and he still has a U-boot commander bust I gave him about 10 years ago. It's a 120mm Verlinden Winter Grenadier which I managed to snag for 13$. The figure is quite good, it's a nice sculpt with lots of detail in the winter smock. The smock is painted with oils (it's hard to see the the gradients in the strong light, but it's pretty good). The base is done, the fence is balsa stained with oils, the snow is baking soda secured with hairspray, and the ice on the grass is glass bead (it's a bit grey because it's used, I had to swipe some from a bead blaster at work).

Hi mate!
I really like how you made the fence and the snow effect. Very reallistic!
The figure looks promising.
Keep those pics coming on!
Cheers!

Thanks Pablo, I'm enjoying the project. It's been many, many years since I last did a figure, this is a sort of refresher for my techniques (I'm still old-school, sticking to oils for workability - but it takes a week for each section to dry, so you can't rush things).
I highly recommend the glass-bead trick, I learned it here on Armorama and the result is great, it literally sparkles and is virtually foolproof. Just spray some adhesive, sprinkle on, and you're done.

Looks very realistic! Now hope, you're figure becomes as good as your vignette.
