Same story than the Sd.Kfz.124 Wespe
Are the damage track realistic enough?
I have try to make a Panzerfaust hole damage with little burning effect .
The tank is also hand brush painted.
On the dio it will seams that the Sherman is a couple of days ago destroyed. So, is the wheathering not excesief.
I find it this way nicely done and as real as it can but i need other people opinion there.
What would you do?

Nice job. Excallent finish for brushing. You did the tracks very well, I like the rumpled one.
Couple of points, the spare track on the bow needs something to hold it in place. Couple of options. Take hobby wire and 'weld' on four pins to hold the track in place at the corners. Or, use strip styrene and make an inverted 'U' holder at the top.
If the interior of the tank burned I would add a touch of black to the commanders hatch (unless it was open at the time of explosion). This is your preference depending on the story.
I might add a touch of black around the burnt area of the shell hit. Smodge some black pastels around the burnt area toward the top.

Very good, can't wait to see the finished dio.

If it was a big internal fire, those packs and boxes might have burned,or gotten very charred. If it wasnt a bad fire inside, and the crew bailed out,the loaders hatch would be open too.
The burned/rust up frpm the impact hole could go straight up,and be even slightly wider at the top. (++) (++) (++) piggy effort.

I agree...they did not refer to Shermans as "Ronson's" for nothing! You need to add some black to the hatches and turret area.

Very nice job
In respect of your question about the tracks, I think that they donīt look very realistic because the tarck links are glued in each road wheel instead of laying touching the floor as Iīve seen in some photos of damaged tanks.
I agrre with the others pinions about the need of more black around the commanders hatch.

I like the job very much

Hello..

I like what you have done with the kit.. and the black on the hatches is deffently an improvement.

also the burned rear deck adds to the burnt out look, one other thing I would do is to add some burn marks and blacking around the fuel caps on the rear deck.. I would think they would burn a bit also.

love the work.. it has given me some idea's to think about in the future..

Great ! Now it looks like a real inside burned Sherman. The front track looks very convincent. Did you do something with the track links glued to the road wheels ?
The job looks great, I like it :-)

Yes, first i did cut the track in a lot of pieces to give them the loss ( detached ) effect and glued pieces by pieces also on the wheels was quite a challenge
Appriciate you like it so that when the dio is finished you all can say we helped the dud :-)

Definately a good improvement from the first batch of pictures. the added smoke marks from the hatches really helps convey the story. With this placed in a dio will help it even more! You have made a great job of painting by brush RIMA. The streaks along both sides are excellent, and really well done. Do use pastels for this? Please give a short explanation of your method ..... this is very effective and something I would like to achieve!

Rima

Really nice lookin Sherman I like the way you have weathered it and the rainstreaks are very natural too you did a good job on that stripey appearance.. Did you get that stripey appearance with filters or did you use somethign else.. let me know.
Further the tank sure looks like something that is burned out extensively ( a real ronson :-) )

I have one question though..... In what kind of dio are you going to place it because if I`m not mistaken the tank is running on wintertracks So a winterdio is the most like then.. though I don`t know if the sherman drove also with those tracks outside the winter. This again is a nitpick to a good model from this dutchman. Great job dude I like it

The tracks are standard T54E1 steel chevron with "duckbill" extended end connectors. Afaik, the steel tracks were produced because rubber was in short supply, and weren't "winter" tracks. Recall seeing photos of ice bar grousers fitted to some tracks, which were to aid winter traction.
If the hatches are smoke blackened, wouldn't flame/smoke have exited around the turret race, as well, blackening the lower portion of the turret? Just my $0.02 Rob

I do not use pastel for this .
Normaly wheathering is done with a piece of none stoffy cloth why don't you try that system ( of course black wash ) with a brush movement up too douwn. but of course and be carfull there this is my second lear of wash NOT the furst one to make a depth look like. I hope that you understand what i mean
