Hi guys,
sorry for the quality (and the obvious shortcomings of the pic as it's taken from the rear!!) of this Russian Jeep :
I don't think it should yet be that difficult because I know it's supposed to be a standard Jeep from the 60's but any guess of the exact type?
Would you also know If any kit exists?
Thanks for any help
JB

jba,
Your "jeep" is actually a common old Series II Land Rover, as can be seen from the badge on the left rear.
Roadcraft (UK) do a multi-media kit of the Landie Series I (1/35th), I do have an address but can't find at this present time, I'll pass it on to you when tracked down, or you could do a cut'n'shut on the old Tamiya Landrover Ambulance.

Thanks Casper, a *land rover*?! This movie was shot in 1978 in Communist Lithuania!! How did they find a Land Rover for the movie? but then I knew I had seen the shape somewhere before
Thanks a million anyway
Chas, my current ship build is SO difficult and demanding that I think of taking another breather (Galilée was a breather actually).
And what a greater breather than superdetailing/building/scratching a "Russian" Jeep?

This is from the movie Stalker isn't it?
I always wandered how they got the LandRover as well.
BTW, great recent work.

Yep Dmitry, it's from Stalker, the main reason why I find it hard *not* to model Russian
Now I was always surprised that there was a Thompson PM in the movie too. I suppose it's Tarkovski's way of de-communism his movie
Thanks for your comments anyway..
..and thanks Ales for finding this better screenshot! i really thought it was a Russian jeep!

Italeri used to make a landrover in 1/35 which would be closer than the Tamiya kit. OOP but sometimes seen on Ebay.
