Hi all,
I usually use car body primer on metal parts, (1:8 and 1:6) scale tanks. I need to airbrush smaller and more detailed parts. Grateful for good advice on a simple to use (and buy in the UK) acrylic primer that I can airbrush. Are any of the Tamiya range suitable?
Many thanks.

I have just the thing. I was sick & tired of poping to Halfords every week or so, to grab a tin of primer. Then one week i was in B&Q and they sell acrylic primer in a 2 litter tin its manufactured by plascon they make loads of stuff- eg varnish, paints.
Cost my £5.69
I thin it with distilled water.
Another source is Bancrofts they sell primer in tin & spray cans.
Hope this helps

Trackpins, I use a general purpose acrylic primer that I used on resin, metal, plastic, ecc successfully. I buy it at any art crafts store, it's cheap, odorless, fills small gaps, I dilute it with water and can be brushed or airbrushed. Usually I dilute it at 50-60% for airbrushing. I actually don't know the brands you've got in the UK but if you describe it to someone at these stores they will find something suitable.

I have to take 'she that must be obeyed' to Bluewater (shopping complex) tomorrow so I will visit the art shop there. Failing that B&Q here I come!
Thanks again.

Trackpins,
Polly Scale makes (made?) an acrylic metal primer. I like it a lot, but the problem lately is finding it.
