Nice review - thanks!
I like the "vingette in a box" philosofi in these releases - very attractive and is sure to find its way into my stash.
Cheers/Jan

Hi Jim slight problem with your review , that needs changing , Ist Pattern Denison had no knitted cuffs , they were added by soldiers from top halfs of socks , second pattern they were fitted as standard . 3rd pattern very rare the two bottom pockets were increased in size , mainly issued to officers who had the full length zip inserted . Lastly the rarest pattern was issued to Marines who had the half zip removed and buttons and button holes fitted . All held in private museum to which I am researcher and curator cheers ian

Thanks for the comments Ian. I didn't though use 'First Version' I stated that it was the earlier with the knitted cuffs. Perhaps I should have said 'intermediate'?
So, using a comparative form rather than a superlative (Earlier vs. EARLIEST), at the danger of sounding arrogant about it, I won't be editing the Review.
Most people who have gone into the subject should have sufficient references to clear up what IS a slightly confusing subject - your comments are appreciated.
Oh, and from personal experience, the Denison was still in MoD stocks and getting issued into the '70s. I had one which had a W.D. production date of 1944....
Wish to hell i'd reported it stolen...
