Hi there,
In the book 'US Military Tracked Vehicles" there is at least one picture
of some M32-version (VVSS) with an angular superstructure instead
of the rounded one which can be seen in many pictures on the internet.
This is an M32-something with a welded hull, HVSS and the rounded
superstructure:

but I'm interested in information about the one which had the front
part built up with three flat metal plates.

Was this only on the prototypes so that all the production vehicles
had the rounded superstructure ?

I'd like to build variants of the M32 and that's why I'm wondering if it
was only the prototypes who had the angular superstructure.
Pictures/drawings/measurements would be appreciated.
regards / Robin

The early M32B2's (m4A2 hull/diesel engined versions had the angular turret. Though there are images of the rounded "turret" being used too. The prototypes had the angular structure, and some had 3 pc transmission covers.

Indeed the prototypes had the welded, flat sided turrets. These also entered production. However, the switchover to the rounded front M32 turrets happened early on so the huge majority had that configuration. It's just that the earliest M32s had the flat turret. (not that hard to do using the base Italeri kit)

Thanks!

I don't need to worry about the angular "turret" then :-)
Nice to know that I can do as I please since it isn't mandatory for
any hull type.
