Dear friends,

I am rushing my tiger I diorama for the local Tamiya competition....How do I do a tree like this website

http://www.geocities.jp/shige122112/041122.html

Is this in the pic likely to be real plants or made from copper wires?

THanks

Cheers

That appears to be a dug up root.

My best guess would be that it is indeed a root or a twig with smaller roots glued to it. The smaller branches could just as easily be replicated with copper wire.

I go with Al on this one. To go even further I wonder if it is not a root from this plant.

Ive used it myself quite often. Pick them when they grow in sand as they come up easily without damaging the roots, hose them and let them dry for a week. Sometimes you dont have to paint them but merely wash and drybrush.

Roots from young pine plants could be used as well.

Definatley a root
I have used these many times and the results are great
Larger hrder wood branched bushes and small trees are best
The smaller soft stemmed stuff does not have good hard roots
