Hi, all! Thought I post some WIP shots of my Repotenciado. I've used Zaloga's wash with Liquin technique on the lower chassis and suspension, but I'm not sure about doing it over the whole model. I'm afraid it will wash out the tones of the camo too much on the upper surfaces. More detail wok to do yet: antennas, leadlight and taillight lenses, and so on. What to you guys think?
Hmmm....pictures aren't here. I upoaded them fine to my workbench photos, but they didn't link to this thread. Try looking there?

Checked out your photos, very nice job. Working on the same vehicle only using a IC chassis. What barrel/ muzzle break/ paints did you use? Really nicely done vehicle.

Thanks, guys! As noted, a few things remain to be done but all small stuff. And thanks for attaching the pictures to the thread! Do you fellows agree that the light dust wash would be too much on the upper hull? I'm leaning that way; may just use it for some pin washes around bolt heads and in recesses that would collect dust--like at the rear corners of the turret ting/splash rail area.
The muzzle brake...lots of work. I used the vertical pieces from an Academy M51, filling in the slots with styrene and adding tops and bottoms from styrene sheet. The lots of iterations of epoxy putty, superglue, and sanding. Eventually I had two pieces roughly U-shaped in profile. Made molds of RTV and cast up the brake so I can make more. I too have another Repo on the way eventually: A Ic Hybrid-based version using the old DML kit. Upper hull on that one completely reworked, and Tasca suspension fitted. And I am scratchbuilding the attachments to fit a set of Trumpeter KMT-5 minerollers.

Oops...Doug asked about paint, too. I used Jim Wechsler's basic mix from the model he did for AMPS Boresight a couple of years ago: Testors Model Master enamels, Faded Olive Drab and RAL7027 Afrika Dunkelgrau. I sprayed a filter coat of Raw Umber overall to darken it. I then used W&N oils to do spot mapping and streaking for tonal variation, and the paint chips are Humbrol Khaki Drab and Deep Bronze green--both colors would have previously been used by the former British owners. The dust wash is a mix of Russian Earth Gray, RAF Dark Earth, ANA Sand, a blob of W&N Titanium white, the Liquin, and mineral spirits. Can't tell you proportions; just mixed it until I liked the color.
