I did a search on Yahoo! and came up with this. I betcha there's some information there that you can use. Also, the Osprey books have a literal ton and a half of information on what you need. And don't forget your local library...there should be some information there you can use.

Hello..

You could use Deep Yellow, Desert Yellow or Dark Yellow on the clothes..

Skin tones? I usually paint them flesh...Then alter the tones with the washes...

Hope this helps.

Good Luck!

I think you can add shades to your desert color by using yellow ochre + white. Hey lonewolf, you finally got the hang of my wash technique on skin toning. Is it working for you?

nowadays I am painting an afrikakorps figure for the Small-N-Big campaign,so I did a detailed search.Afrikakorps uniforms can be painted in desert yellow, khaki and olive green.webbings can be painted in khaki or yellow ochre.for boots;canvas parts are khaki(i added a few drops of olive green and gave a better look),leather parts are light brown. shades on uniform can be done adding khaki to desert yellow.btw,I use humbrol paints.
best regards

Yup! ^_^ Working real great! I use enamel paint washes before, and I don't get the pigments to seep at the details... Took your advice and went to National Book Store, and bought one tube of "Raw Umber" Oil paint. (REEVES)...

I was amazed with the results...The other day, I was supposed to buy "Gold Oche", but to no avail..Just settled for "Deep Yellow"..

Thanks! Kabayan! ^_^

Now your getting a hang of it Lone! Just remembered the time we got there. Hey Lone, try helping me sometimes with fig painting. I don't have the neccessary skills for that. I think I'll be forever stuck in AC. (Wish not)
