My reply per the duplicated question in HF's Research forum:

AFAIK the cap insignia would have reflected the nature of the regiment - so a recon regiment would wear recon insignia, and a tank regiment the armour cap & badge.
IIRC they would wear divisional insignia (amongst others) as formation badges on their sleeves or shoulders depending on the theatre.
Vehicle would probably show division and regiment.
Hopefully someone else can confirm this...

(p.s. no need to post the question 3 times, mate - I saw the first one on the LP page - but for the benefit of others will repeat my answer in the Armorama figure forum)

The armoured reconnaissance regiments weren't part of the Reconnaissance Corps and wore their own regimental badges on black RAC berets. This is Trooper Lyon of the 15th/19th King's Royal Hussars (who replaced 2 NY as 11th Armoured Division's recce regiment) in the turret of his Challenger

They would almost certainly have worn regimental shoulder flashes and yellow/red RAC AoS strips on their battledress. Chances of anyone wearing generic RAC badges or flashes were small unless they were forced - regimental pride came first.
