Here is a diorama depicting a rest (and hide) time of a Zero in the Island of Rabaul during US raids...this specific plane belonging to 6th Kokutai received a green mottling in the field (thus the overspray on Hinomarus) in an attempt to hide inthe jungle vegetation from the straffing..the kit is from tamiya...the vegetation is scratch...

Your comments are welcome....if you have any questions ill be glad to answer...

The kit...

the diorama...

and some close up of the vegetation !!!

Thats all for tonight....

i'm sort of curious about an overhead shot showing the whole scene - do you have one like that you could post?

Most modellers find it difficult to create tropical vegetation in 1:35 scale. Considering this is 1:48, you have done extremely well!

All that is lacking from what would otherwise be a fantastic diorama, are figures. If you can paint up some pilot/groundcrew, the scene would gain that extra bit of life.

Can you take some overall pictures showing the whole diorama?

You have done a terrific job on the foliage. The over all diorama is all great figures would really set it off. But figures or not I really like it.

I echo earlier sentiments. How about scuffing the ground where the wheels rolled. At least depressing the end point. It looks like the plane is sitting very high. Is the tail wheel the right color?

The zero is great, the jungle is great.

Thank you all ....

The base has two points were the wheels fit in but if you notice i moved the plane in different angles for the shooting. So in the picture you are talking about it happened to sit a bit akward....figures and a bicycle are being prepared (there is also a story behind it)....
the tail wheel is also the right color (i believe) but the light is reflecting a lot.....

Patience !!! an overhead photo is also on its way !!!
