Hello. I am a new member and have been enjoying building armor models and their figures for a few months. This forum is quite helpful.
I have a question please: How do you drill out the neck on a figure ( like one that comes with a kit ) in order to put a nicer ( resin ) head on?
I want to make this conversion on a figure but I can't drill the neck without ruining the body of the figure.
Thanks

Okay it can be done with great risk to both figure and your own fingers with a hobby knife and a sharp blade.
The best way to do it is to use a small drill bit to drill a guide hole in the centre of the neck and then use a bigger bit about the size of the neck to drill the neck out, A wood bit or steel bit held in the hand and twisted with the fingers will do.
Drill deeper than neccessary and if the resin head sinks too low when test fitted then pack some putty or a scrap of sprue in as a spacer.
If you have a dremel you can use it to ream out the hole with a suitable head once you have drilled a guidehole.

Thanks for your reply Pat. I will try your advice. Painting figures seems a lot easier than doing these conversions.
