I could have sworn I have seen somewhere aftermarket hats and helmets that attach to figures, e. g. a helmet which could be placed onto any 1/35 figure. Or am I imagining things? Thanks.

i belive skp did a range, try and google them, or go to www.historexagents.com

Ultracast does a range of helmets in resin:

SKP Model does a limited range in brass:

http://www.skpmodel.eu/skp016.php
http://www.skpmodel.eu/skp026.php
http://www.skpmodel.eu/skp028.php

Aires Hobby Models made a set of German hemets in resin, there's probably a few other companies too.
