First just let me say ......... no the infantrriewagen - crane wagon does not exist, as far as I know ......... heck as far as everybody knows.
With the lack of refs on a German crane car and my stash lack of rail cars this is what I came up with.
Yeah I know nothings painted ....... but someday ........... large lack of time, a new job ......................
Who knows, a shot up infanteriewagen from the Balkans, Germans in need of a r.r. crane car in Italy with a cutting torch ................ yea I know it's a real long bit of a stretch.
Anyway this will be part of the monastery/ship/port dio.

A Very Cool idea that so far is Very Nicely done ! I'm very interested in followig this build. Cant wait to see the finished Dio. I am in the very early planning stages of a German Railway Dio myself useing the Trump BR-52 and three Dragon railcars with the Custom Dio Tracks and Czech Master accessories & most important... Still searching for the appropiate Ref Material. Good luck with your Dio , Yours would make an Awesome Feature here . milvehfan

Your scratchbuilding skills are something that I would like to see in a feature as well. Not to many people scratch major stuff in plastic; but you are doing it in what appears to be 4 mediums! Some resin, some plastic, a lot of wood, and some metal! Do tell!

Great job on the railcars! I'm currently (VERY slowly) working on a dio of a German railyard, just doing what looks good to me so it won't be strictly accurate. I've already built my rolling stock but if I have room for another I might use my creativity as you've done and have some fun with it. Well done, quite inspiring!

Very cool build. I love rail-themed dios. You done some great work with what's available as far as kitbashing and scratchbuilding. The cabin on the flat looks awesome and as far as the infantriewagon alterations? It looks okay to me. I think it would be a stretch to say it never existed, but, a flat with the crane build-up is probably more accurate.
I'll look through some of the material I have. I'll see if I can find some interesting refs.

Glenn -

Your posts, especially these of your most recent 'Project' (Monastery,Port, Ship, Rail, etc), are the most anxiously anticpated ones that I watch for here on Armorama. Absolutely incredible scratchbuilding skills and workmanship that is so masterful. You continue to amaze with every addition. Every detail is there from hoses, handles/hinges, even down to the blinds in the railcar. Love the spare parts bin. As always many thanks for sharing,

Super neat builds!
When you start painting, be sure to hang some sort of fluid catch behind that 3-jaw-chuck on the lathe with splatter on it...

Hi Glenn,

How are you ?

Like i said already on ML (Hmmm, you have some more replys there) it's good to see you working on your dio again.
I am always amazed at the exact and clean scratch working you are able to pull out. At least it looks so. I like the railcar and you will probably be able to fill it with a lot of action.

Cheers
Claude

Thanks guys.
Darren, sounds cool - let me get a little further along on the build and I'll come up with something.
Milvehfan, thanks, I've got the BR52 to put in the dio but I don't know if it saw service in Italy [ oh well maybe a tad more artistic license, [ wouldn't want to stray to far from fact, the correctness police with have my head !!! ] Yes you're right German military R.R. ref. pics. are scarce.
Steven, Domi, thanks dudes

Jean, I thought I was retired too. I went for a part time job loading and unloading 53' box trailers and wound up becoming the supervisor for the whole warehouse !!!! Hey more money more modelling fodder. I'm glad you like the food !!!! I just couldn't resist after your post on the other thread l.o.l.

James, thanks, Barry go for it it's lots of fun doing R.R. stuff and there's plenty of kits out there and tons that can be scratched.

Murph, thanks man. Even though there's alot of kits out there, the cheaper Dragon ones are out of production and I'm using what's in the stash. This pic. is what gave me the idea on chopping and channeling the wagon. It looks like it's about to be 86'ed or rebuilt .............Hey, send it to Glenn's dio down in Italy, l.o.l. , the German tin knockers may be able to use it for something, l.o.l.

Mike, thanks buddy, lets hope I can find time to build and update regularly.

KoSprueOne, thanks, l.o.l. I won't forget ........ that or the spent wooden matchsticks on the floor l.o.l.

Claude thanks, I'm aiming at a busy , busy scene. A thousand little interacting stories in a large picture. That's why I love Clervaux so much !!!!!

Jacob, thanks. I don't want to stray too far from facts or it'll be a large beautiful [ I hope ] dio with a booger on it.
