Hey Andrew,
Your Comet looks pretty good !!!
The weathering is not to heavy, the mud looks O.K. !!
Cheers

Andrew,
I think your Comet looks excellent. I love the weathering. I noticed on the turret, just to the side of the mantlet, there is a dark brown line on the seam. How did you achieve this look and the look of the tank overall, did you use oils?

Really great looking model - thanks for posting it!
Perhaps, but remembering that the mudguards were of a lighter steel than the rest, they WOULD be prone to rusting/flaking/damage, i'd personall leave it. You'd probably get a bit of build-up of more 'solid' mud there anway - which would be a way of 'fixing' it...
Best thing about it is the finish - VERY convincing all over...

Another great build Andrew, man you must be busy!
Did you handpaint all the markings? Hats off to you, they look great.
Weathering is superb, another hand painted job? You put those of us with an airbrush to shame.
I see you got the besa machine gun barrel the correct colour this time too!
Might have to call you out on the red fire extinguishers though, they should be bronze green for a wartime comet I beleive, to be honest the only other colour i've ever seen them in except green is yellow! I know there is a pull to add some colour to a monotone build though.
Do you plan on adding figures to fill those hatches? Otherwise those open hatches can look like voids into another dimension!
Great work.
James

thanks guys for your interest
to answer justins question first
all i did was dry brush the whole tank
i got a medium brush and trimed the brisils down to about 4mm
this seems to work the best
the dark brown bits are just humbrol dark brown paint
dry brushed on the edges
i didnt think it would come out as good as this
but i still need to practice some more
regards andrew
