Hi everyone,
Since all my other builds are going pretty slow lately, waiting for some supplies and creating realistic snow isn't that easy , well I decided to apply some techniques I haven't used on an old figurine of Andrea Miniatures.
I believe that all went smooth till now, and maybe there are some improvements to do...all advice is more than welcome.
By this depicting the obvious I must say that I don't endorse what he meant or what he did, nor do I want to start a debate....
The white metal figurine is sculpted splendidly by Andrea Miniatures and I must say I liked what I did in an afternoon, again, maybe there are a few things to improve.
Well, there you have it
cheers

1. Find a decal or print a swastika from the internet. painting one will always leave a lot to be desired.
2. Overall, the figure needs a lot more highlight and shading, especially in such a monochromatic uniform, but that applies to the face and hands, too.
3. The eyes should be trimmed down with flesh, they look too big and round.
4. When phootgraphing a model, try to simplify the background with a drop cloth or a photo. For this this figure you could pick any picture on-line of Berl;in from the period, especially of one of the rallies and print it. Even if hte background were black and white, you'd have a neat image. Click on the "Photos" button on this post to see what I mean.

Appreciate your comments, the swastika looks weird on the picture, by looking at it "in hand" looks far better. And about the shading, maybe the uniform needs a bit more contrast but are you sure the face needs it too?
Again the eyes look better looking them plain view, but I agree that a background will settle those problems...
cheers

Andrea Miniatures - 1/32?
I agree strongly about the arm band. It is a very iconic and historical symbol, and everyone has seen it already. It stands out very clearly. If printing it is not an option for you, masking isn't out of the question. Seriously.
The red band, is obvious. A white circle. Then blocks of tape for the swaz.
I'd use artistic license and paint the tie with a tiny drop of blue or yellow, to lighten or darken it subtly from the rest of the uniform. The rest of the figure looks cool.

Thanks for the comments, yes it's a 1:32 scale, though it looks more like a 1:35 to me at times.
I'll rework on the eyes and the band, and on the highlights. Hope to have better pics soon, with a nice background
