Looking good so far.
As I assumed upgraded with the Henschel bonus parts and most probably PEs (clamps etc.) from their Tiger II-kit.
I think the clear parts are also added to.
No certain surprises, seems to be as usual a typical DML high-value and solid kit with nice details.
Now I am looking forward which camo schemes and markings they do offer...

Dunkel Gelb and lots of Zimmerit.
Seeing as this is not the LATE/FINAL Porsche JagdTiger (3 x 2 sets of trackhangers, double handles, ribbed front fenders) anything else than Dunkel Gelb is out of the question, plus Zimmerit.
And with the Zimmerit, one has to take into account which one it is going to be, as there are differences from one JagdTiger to the other.
Ow, and the option is there for a single vehicle with Elefant tracks.

looks good, everything you'd expect from a DML Premium edition.
Likely to give Tamiya a run for their money, time will tell.......

"Daft question maybe, but could someone please point out what exatly is differant in this release to DML's last Jagdtiger."
The 'main' difference to the Henschel kit might be an add-on of a complete PE-fret of the Tiger-II-kit(P).
That's what I assume, because DML has announced clamps for the tools, PE-meshes, single metal tow cables and nearly all parts of the Tiger-kit mentioned can be used for the Jagdtiger too.
Link to TigerII(P) and its PEs
I guess that this kind of upgrade increases the value in comparison with the Henschel-kit.

Uhm... the suspension?

Thank you Marco and Herbert. Now if the two version were side by side could you tell the differance from looking, without lifting their skirts

And the camo scheme???
It was one of the last few produced, so I believe it had three tone hard edged. This vehicle is included in the decal sheet for the DML Jagdtiger Henschel that I built a few months ago, will have to check the finishing guide to be 100% sure.

Thanks, Bill. I just read Carius's book, and am including his tank in a Winter Eastern Front dio I'm working on, so thought to "book end" him with the Jagdtiger.

If you look at the pictures in Panzer Wrecks 3, Jagd Tiger X1has a 3 color, soft edged camo scheme similar to X7.
We can thank the error in the Panzer Colours books by Bruce Culver for creating the confusion. He state's that X7 was solid dark yellow and included a profile to that effect, which is in fact wrong.
Edited to correct my mistakes. LOL

Wait a sec, my bad. Albert Ernst commanded X1. That's what I get for posting from work, all my references are at home. LOL
Here is a pic of X7. The contrast of the photo isn't very good, but look at the barrel, you can see the color variations.
Here is X1 from Panzer Wrecks 3 which had a similar scheme as X7. The contrast of the photos in PW3 is better so you can see the dark green stand out more.

Carius' ride should've been Y1 if the company designations had been followed...X1 belonged to Ernst. X7 wasn't surrendered at Iserlohn but lost at Obernephen...at least according to this thread:

Well at least it doesn't have rubber tracks. That is the big thing for me. i simply cannot stand them. But that is MHO. Looks good. Looks like a typical Dragon kit from what we see here. I would like to see a lot more detail shots then what we have here. But not were not seeing that just yet. Can't wait to get mine. But a lot more to get first.

It doesn't even have Magic Tracks
Just the old sprue-tracks from kit 6051, so why is it called a premium-kit???
Look here for sprue-shots: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10080923

Because new molds are at a premium, so if they can get away with re-releasing something, they will!

Thanks for the intel. DML's 3800 yen vs. Tamiya's 5000 yen should make this an easy choice for me. They also have it up for cheaper at the Dragon USA online store for $37.95.
http://www.dragonusaonline.com/item_detail.aspx?ItemCode=DRA6351
The higher price at HLJ isn't surprising as the Japanese yen exchange rate is extremely high these days. It's probably best to back off from the Japanese online stores for now. The exchange rate is killing their prices.
Cheers
Ivan
