.The kit is an old Revell kit that I started about 7 years ago.I started working on the interior and that was about it. When I dug the kit out of the closet a couple of weeks ago, I discovered that the hul sides were bowing inwards,so much for the interior work. I did some bracing to the inside of the hull and closed it.
As you can see this will be a KOed tank. I'll be using this model to brush up on some old painting technics and maybe try some new ones.I haven't decided on whether it will be a fresh wreck or a vehicle that was sitting around for 60 odd years.

I'll post new pics when I start with the painting.

Off to a good start Rob. Can't wait to see this one painted up. What kind of environment are you going to use for the base?

what size round do you suppose hit it? it looks a bit small to have penetrated IMO.
"Be advised. I'm mean, nasty and tired. I eat concertina wire and piss napalm and I can put a round in a flea's ass at 200 meters. So why don't you go hump somebody else's leg, mutt face, before I push yours in."

Looks like a 75 mm, 76 mm, or three-inch penetration. In scale, the hole would be a hair under 2.2 mm in diameter. Any of those weapons could punch through the side armor of a Jagdpanzer IV.

Hey guys,
A bit

but here's some shots of the Jagdpanzer IV/70 (A) at the Saumur museum with some actual shell damage:
http://www.jagdtiger.de/index2.htm?http://www.jagdtiger.de/GermanVeh/JpzIV70A-01.htmI can't remember where but I've seen a photo somewhere of this vehicle taken just after it was knocked out by French or American troops.
I don't know if it's a bit was bit of artistic license but you could see that there was a 75-76mm round sticking out of the front plate.
It appears to still be there.

And here's the site with that photo:
http://uwemilitaria.org/2-Track/Jpanzer4ersatz/24.html Just run your cursor over the wartime photo and a picture of the same vehicle at the Saumur will pop up.
Other than the lack of markings, it's the same beast.
Cheers

Thanks all,
Sorry I could not respond to your questions and comments, I use my wife's pc in her office and can only do that when she's not working on it.
The 2 entry holes on the side of the model are 2 + mm in diameter, so it could have been a 75 or 76 mm round.
We here is what i've gotten done so far. The model will be placed in some ground work on a base before I can continue. I took the pics under normal lights so it's a bit redish orange in the pics, I will take new pics under the correct lighting and post them when I can.

All comments are welcome and I wil answer questions when I can get on line so please
don't get offended if I take a day or two, thanks.

Incredible work mate.
Just so realistic and the basic scenery really finishes it off.
Outstanding.

Rob,
If you put it against a suitable back drop and shot it in black and white, you would swear it was a war casualty. Very well done!!

Wow just looking at that makes me feel like I need a tetanus shot!
Seriously though it looks amazing. I love the rust effects and how you have it sunken into the ground work.
