Greetings, All !
Just finished building a FAUN Elefant SLT heavy hauler alongside its cargo - Panzerhaubitze 2000. Elefant is a Trumpeter kit and Pzh 2000 is Revell. Shown below are the pictures of this effort, and as always, your opinions are much appreciated.

Nice! One massive vehicle carrying another massive vehicle. Especially like the weathering on the Faun.

Thanks for all the feedback !
The FAUN kit is great - huge, very detailed and fun to build. Pzh 2000 is less than perfect - photoetch is missing, some flash, molding is quite coarse, but due to the sheer size of the model these drawbacks are not entirely obvious.
I think its a good idea to clamp the howitzer down with some chains, though in real-life, if that 70 ton beast started to skid I wouldn't think there's a chain strong enough to hold it .

Looks really good. Nice job on it.
You would be suprised. I have seen a 70 ton Abrams stay on when the trailer rolled over. If properly chained down with the correct chain, it is quite effective and can withstand a lot force.

Hello!
The Faun with the PzH 2000 lokes good. But I think there are some things that could be better:
the mirrors at the Faun were missing
the mirrors at the PzH were clapped down on transport
the blinkers at the Franziska (the right name for the Faun, the Elefant is the SLT 50, but you build the SLT 56) should be painted
the Tarnleitkreuz (the cross at the rear of the semitrailer) should be painted white (only the cross, not the whole thing)
And I think it would be better if you'll do some detail painting. At Bundeswehr vehicles there are normally litte red points in the middle of the roller or of the rim of the Faun. These red points are the places that have to be greased. Just have a look at www.panzer-modell.de and there on Referenzen and In Detail you'll find some very good pics of Bundeswehr vehicles.
But all in all Both model kits where good build.
Best regards from Germany
Tobias

Thanks for the in-depth description, I will try to incorporate some of your suggestions. I never realized that Trumpeter mislabeled this FAUN as Elefant instead of Franziska.
As far as mirrors on the FAUN are concerned they were there, but I must have accidentally snapped them off and glued them back on about 10 times before I got totally fed up and removed them

ME LIKE!!!
Well done depicting the two vehicles, this has inspired me to do something similar with A Leopard 2 A4 on the back!
