Was the Challenger II (Tamiya model) used in desert storm?

Was it used at the begining of the invasion in OIF?

Does it use the same type of ammo as the Abrams?

1. No....the Challenger 1 was used.

2. Yes....from the beginning of OIF to the present.

3. No...it is a 120 mm round .....but a two piece round....and different ammunition designs and construction.

The chally is fitted with a 120mm rifled barrel that fires a two piece round with the parts sored separately for safety and the UK use op telic for Iraq ops.
