From what I've read, the M727 was not long in US service. It may not have appeared in MERDC. Maybe they just used the pattern from an M548 or M730?

There were Hawk missile batteries all over the place in Germany when I was stationed there (1987-Dec 1990). This was when there were a mix of MERDC and NATO camouflaged vehicles in almost all units. There was a Hawk missile site at Ft. Hood when I was there in the early and mid 90s that was eventually replaced by a Patriot missile unit sometime before I left in Dec 95.
I was an OBC instructor at Redstone Arsenal when the final Hawk missile maintenace class was conducted. That was sometime during the last 6 months in 1998. They put a NATO camouflaged one in front of MICOM (Missile Command, now AMCOM/Aviation and Missile Command) when the missile was retired from US use during that year.

I know the Hawk was in service for a long time. I was wondering about the M727. From what I read it was in service with the US Army for only a few years. Perhaps the M727 was an early Hawk launcher based on the M548? Perhaps what we are really talking about is the M754? I've tried to find pictures online of this but the only site that mentions it doesn't seem to want me to look at it (JED Database).
Update:
I pulled my Hunnicutt "Bradley" book out and it seems the M754 is the actual missile launcher that is mounted in the M727 vehicle.

What is also a possibility is that M754 is the alpha numeric for the complete system, while M727 is just that for the carrier chassis.
For instance:
M730 carrier + M54 launcher = M48
M741 carrier + turret w/ M168 (likely designated as a whole as well) = M163
