the idea in a nut shell. german wehrmacht on night manuvers in occupied france. unsure tank commander misses bridge and ends up in the drink. why did he miss the bridge? somebody moved the markers. my problem is this: i don't remeber what kind of markers, if any, were used for this purpose. i seem to recall reading a story similar to this somewhere but do you think i can find it...? at this point i'm not even sure if it was world war two any more.
any help with details would be appreciated, because i'm going mad with
this.
cheers

Didn't they have some sort of white reflective tape that they marked trails and minefields etc with. Seems to me the US had this, not sure about Germany.
