Figured i'd do a build log, but sadly i have no pics (yet). I have already started this kit, and i finished its assembly and finished painting/wheathering the interior. The kit's rubber band tracks were a real disapointment- too narrow, stiff, and did not fit well at all. To remedy this, i purchased and assembled AFV Club's workable tracks. However, the sprokets were to narrow, to i installed some styrene spacers.
So where i stand now is with an M10 with its interior painted. I have yet to paint the turret interior. Now for my question- stowage. Is it best to paint the vehicle, add the stowaye, and then paint the stowage, or add the stowage, paint the vehicle, then paint the stowage? or paint the stowage and add it to the painted vehicle?
Pics tomarrow!

An added update- Sorry for the lack of pics. My dad is the one who takes the pictures, and as usuall, Christmas hub-bub and work intervined. However, today i worked my way into the spray-room and painted the turret's interior Lifecolor Olive Drab lightenned with a nick of Lifecolor Faded Olive Drab Type One. Suposedly, my dad is free tomarrow- maybe we'll see some pics.
All the best and happy holidays.

Ant, i highly recomend you place those tracks in the trash- it is the only place they belong. Anyway, as promised, here are some pics of what i got so far. Theres still much tweaking to be done, but the interior of the hull and turret are done. If anyone is interested, i will go into details. On to the pics!

Looking good so far, but just a couple of suggestions. The Thompson amgs on the back turret wall would look better being a gunmetal/ greyish colour and the ready ammo in the turret should have the war heads a little longer (less brass). As for the tracks, I used them on another Sherman project with no problems.
Hope this helps out.
Doug

Doug- Thanks for your interest and your suggestions. I had no idea those were thomson mags! i will fix them soon. Unfortunatly, my shells are already glued to the turret wall, and i decided to leave them be, as the risk for a slpadash job and ruining the whole thing is just to high. Once again, thanks for the interests
All the best and a happy holidays
P.S. I'm glad to hear your tracks worked fine. It was not so much the stiffness that got to me, as it was the length. AFV club tracks are the easiest way to do all tracks IMHO.

The AFV tracks went on real well. Its the easiest way to do tracks on a Sherman chassis because the tracks have to be "pulled" together in order to get that tight look. The AFV tracks will not come appart. I do not remember the exact measurement, certainly bigger than one mm. I will post it as soon as i can
sorry for the late reply, ive been a bit busy
