Hello.
I have 2 figures from New World Miniatures. they are 2 figures in Resine. Both of them have epoxi resin adhesive from the casting, on the jacket. I think that this adhesive is generated from the casting block. Please I need your help about the cleaning process. ¿Thinner ? ¿vinegar? ... I just try with hot water, but the adhesive is not removed.
Thanks in advance
Regards
Miguel

Hi Miguel,
This sounds like the resin is sweating. Have a look through this forum topic here: http://hfmodeling.kitmaker.net/forums/116852#962867
I would also suggest contacting NWM to find out if he can recommend anything...

Acetone is the only thing I know of that will clean up uncured resin, which is what this sounds like.

The alternative, which is what I was alluding to above, is to refire the piece in your oven, however I guess you run the risk of melting the figure

Hello again and many thanks for your help.
I was read about diosol or simular product in order to remove resin adhesive or special dust on the figure. Today I am trying to remove this adhesive with lacquer thinner but without good results. In the same way, I have try with hot water and clean wash detergent and the result is better. The surface is smooth now on my fingers but already a fine cover of adhesive can be seen in the surface. Tomorrow, I am going to apply a new wash with "ajax" detergent on the surface.
Thanks again.
