Hi everybody,
I'm working on a Tamiya M48 right now and want to replace the track with a AFV club's track. But all I can find in the hobby shop is a M46/M26 track, can I use it?? As the track will be full of mud or dust and I think most of the details can't be seen anyway.

Personally, I'd either keep looking for the AFV Club M48/60 tracks or use the kit tracks, even though the center guides are inccorectly done. Although the tracks appear similar, the M26/46 tracks are narrower.

While it would be easy enough to trim the inner halves of the drive sprocket to make the M26/46 tracks fit, it would throw the whole alignment of the road wheels and idler wheel off. In other words, the sprocket would not stick out as far as the road wheels would.

If you use the kit tracks, you can always cut them off and replace them with AFV Club tracks when you find them.

I just ordered some AFV M48 Chevron (kit # AF505) style tracks from http://www.greatmodels.com" TARGET="_blank"> http://www.greatmodels.com. Their website says supplies are limited, so hurry if you're going order. The set goes for $12 on that site.
