Just thought I'd post a quick evolution thread on my Sherman crew that I made for my Sherman M4A3 105mm

Here's when I started the faces...

Commander...

Driver...

The pics below are before the filter/wash/weathering stage.

The TC's goggles looks a bit cloudy in the pics due to the fact that the Kristal Klear wasn't totally dry when the pics were shot. I painted the inside of the goggles OD to replicate the helmet below, and added Kristal Kleer in several layers to try and replicate the "glass".

Chose to use a bit of "artistic freedom" regarding the colors on the M1941 combat jacket and bib overall. These are a bit "boring" color wise, but I checked some pics and found that I could get away with the color variation.
For the bib overalls I mixed Tamiya Dark Yellow and Buff and for the M1941 jacket i mixed Buff and Deck Tan. Highlights were done with Vallejo Panzer Aces Highlights US Tanker and white.

The TC...

I made wires for the internal head set in the helmet with thin wire from a loudspeaker.
Saw this in a picture and decided to add this as a little detail.

Here's the driver so far...
Decided to add some color to this guy, so I painted his scarf off white with red stripes. Recon it's not by the book, but in a combat situation I wouldn't think it'd matter.

Pics below of the finished figures are shot just before they ended up in the Sherman.
Added the divisonal and rank insignia in addition to a final weathering step.

Very nice, Per-Erik. I checked out your Sherman too - lovely job.

Are those figures from S&T products (John Rosengrant)? And where did you get the insignia decals?

Archer makes a wide selection of insignia for uniforms.

Per-Erik, very nice!

Incredible!!!!!...work like this just blows my mind!!!! How you get such detail on such small figures is beyond my comprehension!!!
The first set of pics, of just the heads...I CAN SEE THE TANK COMMANDERS TEETH!!!!!! in the first pic....how do you do that???!!!!

and the shadeing and tinting...fantastic!!!!!!!

I've been working very hard this week on my first 2 figures and I was sort of pleased with them until I saw these guys

Awesome figure, I am particularly impressed with the eyes. I either go for the dark effect or they look like Homer Simpson.

@Steve: Thank you very much! Thanx for the kudos on my Sherman too.
Yes, the figures are S&T and sculpted by John Rosengrant. The insignias are form Archer as Thomas points out.

@Thomas: Thank you very much!

@John: Brush painting with Tamiya is no biggie actually, just thin the paint sufficiently and do several light coats, works like a charm.

@Gene: These figures are awesome when it comes to the sculpting, incredible detail all around IMHO. When working with figures like this it is "easier" to get good results on the details because they are indeed very pronounced. I'm sure your figures are great, make a thread and post some pics.

@Thomo: Thanx a lot! I was kinda intimidated when it was time to paint the eyes, but I just took my time and worked in veeery small steps.

Great work! I especially like the detail in the faces. Hope I can manage that level someday! Thanks for sharing!
