Can anyone recommend a good cheapo source for static grass ?

I'm located in Toronto Canada, but purchasing online and shipping is fine.

Buy it by the pound for $19.98 at Scenic Express
Smaller sizes also available.

Edit---- forgot to mention, you can find it in various lengths there also.

Hi Tom

Also, most hobby shops carry static grass so check LHS's in your area. Particularly model train shops will be sure to carry some. I'm not familiar with hobby shops in Toronto but some of the membership here will be so some answers will crop up. Dave's suggestion is a very good one though, Scenic Express is very good and ships everywhere.

You could make your own, simply unravel a length of jute or hemp twine (available at any hardware, cheap!), and snip into fibres with scissors. Doubling or tripling up the thread means you can go faster. I can make 200 grams in about half an hour, because I'm amazing.

Hi,
I use the liners that are used for hanging baskets. It's already a good colour, can be layed in areas or just cut to make clumps. This is perhaps the best modelling bargain I've come across.

CALLMEHOBBES : Funny, I just had a bunch of that stuff in my hands a day or two ago, but put it back. I think I'm going to go get it now though.

My searching far and wide on the internet has not been able to source a method to create this static stuff. So looks like I'm going to have to buy it..........................

GaleForce 9 Hobby Scenics. The best static grass I have ever used. Woodland Scenics static grass is also good. Check your local game shops. GaleForce 9 also has a website. Pretty affordable.
