I needed a break from all the high tech stuff & did this out of the box with a little added stowage (Verlinden). This was a great build; you could put it together in an evening, and the fit, of course, is perfect. It is so small I thought I was working in Braille scale! I sure wouldn't have wanted to ride in one of these with anyone shooting real bullets at me...

Your UE turned out nicely! It sure is a nifty little kit.

I'm not sure whether someone could build it in one evening, but a week certainly would be possible. It took me over a month but then I am still at the novice level and not very confident.

If I had followed Tamiya's steps for making the link and length tracks, I would have had a much easier time of it. Instead I tried to make the link sections stand on their own instead of just gluing them to the wheels. I was using liquid glue, not CA though. All in all it went well except for one link that ended up crooked.

I also had what seemed to be a fit problem with the front wall of the tilt bin although I think I made it worse when I tried to correct it. That's something that can be hidden by putting cargo into the bin.

Gary Kato:
Thanks for your comments. I did my track prior to painting, doing the end pieces first then connecting them which worked out all right for my sausage fingers. As for the fit problem, I'll give you my philosophy with Tamiya; if I have a fit problem, I assume that I am screwing something up, because over time I've found their engineering to be much better than my limited brains! I do recall some problems with that part but eventually found a way to fit it so it was 'happy'.
