2009 is sure to be a great year for quarter-scale fans. Those already familiar with the excellent 1/48th scale Tiger I kits from AFV Club will be happy to hear a 38cm Sturmtiger will be released in the new year. More details coming soon, meanwhile, Ted Hayward''s report can be seen:

I can hardly wait to see what else they have coming out in 2009. Maybe they will scale down their Hellcat and Stuarts????

Is this a new confirmation by AFV of the release? Because the Sturmtiger was announced a long time ago.
I hope so, because their 251 looks like a great kit

It's not just a news announcement: I've actually held the built prototype in my own two hands. I can assure you that armor fans, not just quarter-scale fans will be very pleased. Merry Christmas!

Ted,
Did you get any news on the LVTH-6? They've shown photos of a built up and painted model for many months but no release date...
Cheers,
Christophe

Sorry for my tardy reply! No news yet, but we'll be seeing a lot of surprising new releases this year from AFV Club!

I don't see myself buying the Sturmtiger. I don't get excited about tanks that there were only a couple dozen of.
I am, however, excited by the fact that they are making more 1/48 kits! The Sdkfz 251 looks great and I'm hoping to see more.
